Ingredients

  • 60 ml bourbon Buffalo Trace, Woodford Reserve or Four Roses Small Batch
  • 1 tsp raw sugar or 5 ml simple syrup
  • 2 dashes Angostura bitters
  • 1 dash orange bitters optional
  • 1 large orange peel
  • one large ice cube

Instructions

  • Add sugar and bitters to a rocks glass. Add a small splash of water and stir until the sugar dissolves.
  • Add a single large ice cube or a big rock.
  • Pour the bourbon in. Stir slowly for 30 seconds until cold.
  • Express a strip of orange peel over the top, rub around the rim, drop in. Serve.

Notes

Big ice. Small ice dilutes the drink too fast and the whole point is a slow sipper.
