Paloma

Tequila, pink grapefruit, lime, salt, fizz. Mexico's other drink. Drinks better than a margarita on a 35 degree day.

Ingredients

  • 60 ml blanco tequila
  • 15 ml fresh lime juice
  • pinch of flaky salt
  • 90 ml pink grapefruit soda or 60 ml fresh grapefruit juice + 30 ml soda
  • 1 grapefruit or lime wedge, to garnish
  • flaky salt, for the rim (optional)

Instructions

  • Optional: salt the rim of a highball glass. Fill with ice.
  • Add tequila, lime juice and a pinch of flaky salt. Stir briefly.
  • Top with grapefruit soda. Stir once, gently.
  • Garnish with grapefruit or lime. Serve.

Notes

For the best version, use fresh ruby grapefruit juice and good soda water rather than a bottled grapefruit soda.
