- 45 ml bourbon or rye whiskey Bulleit, Wild Turkey 101, Woodford Reserve
- 30 ml Campari
- 30 ml sweet vermouth Carpano Antica Formula or Cinzano Rosso
- ice, one large cube plus more for stirring
- wide orange peel, to garnish
Chill a rocks glass in the freezer.
Combine bourbon, Campari, and sweet vermouth in a mixing glass.
Fill with ice and stir briskly for 20 seconds.
Strain over a large cube in the chilled glass.
Express a wide orange peel over the drink, rub around the rim, drop in. Serve immediately.
