Fever-Tree Premium Ginger Beer

Our take

Fever-Tree’s ginger beer is what separates a proper Moscow Mule from a sugary mess. It uses three different types of ginger – from Nigeria, the Ivory Coast and Cochin – and you can actually feel the warmth at the back of your throat after a sip. Cane sugar sweet, never corn-syrup cloying.

A big 500ml bottle is enough for two generous mules. Open, pour cold, drink within a couple of hours – the carbonation is the whole point and it doesn’t forgive forgotten half-bottles.

What to mix it with

Moscow Mule, Dark & Stormy, Gin Buck. Splash over a shot of Scotch on a hot afternoon for the world’s easiest long drink.

Background

Fever-Tree launched in 2005 in the UK as a reaction to the soapy, artificial mixers that bartenders had to work around. The co-founders’ line – ‘if three-quarters of your drink is the mixer, mix with the best’ – has become the category’s founding myth.
