St-Germain elderflower liqueur in place of Cointreau.
Why you are pouring this tonight
The Elderflower Cosmo is the Cosmopolitan with Saint-Germain elderflower liqueur replacing the triple sec. Vodka, cranberry, lime, Saint-Germain. Slightly more floral, slightly less aggressive, slightly more dinner-party-with-people-you-like. Cleaner than the original Cosmo by a country mile.
Use a clean vodka (Belvedere, Grey Goose). Real cranberry juice (Ocean Spray 100% cranberry, not cranberry-juice-cocktail), unsweetened. Saint-Germain. Fresh lime. Shake hard with ice for twelve seconds, double-strain into a chilled coupe, lime wheel on the rim. Pair with smoked salmon, anything cured, a Friday night in.
What changes from the Cosmopolitan
Cointreau out, St-Germain in. Cranberry halved, white cranberry added for balance.
What to pour it alongside
Soft cheeses, stone fruit salads, a charcuterie board.
