The Kentucky Mule

Why you are pouring this tonight

Bourbon in place of vodka. The bourbon’s caramel and vanilla pick up the ginger beer’s heat and the drink becomes more substantial than a classic Mule. A couple of mint leaves and a wedge of orange lift it.

What changes from the Moscow Mule

Vodka out, bourbon in. Add a few mint leaves.

What to pour it alongside

Brisket, pulled pork, cornbread. Southern barbecue territory.
